ith Valentine’s Day being just around the corner my thoughts turn to all things romantic, and what could be more romantic than spending the day with the one you love and of course, your two favorite photographers? I can’t stress how important it is to schedule an Engagement Shoot before your wedding. Not only is it beneficial for us to get to know each other before the big day, but any jitters you may be feeling about being photographed will be quickly dispelled. Plus, think of all of the cool things you can do with your images.

We’ve created beautiful sign-in books that become masterpieces once personalized by your guests. Your preview prints can be slipped into frames making perfect centerpieces for your shower. Or how about showing a fun, romantic slideshow at your rehearsal dinner?

The possibilities are truly endless. If you’ve been reading our newsletter then you know we always like to throw

in a goody or two. If you book your Engagement Shoot before March 1st, you will receive a matted 8 x 10 in. enlargement. Perfect for displaying on your guest book table.

appy Holidays! We at Isabel Lawrence would like to start off this newsletter by expressing our gratitude to all of our wonderful clients who trusted us with documenting the important moments of their lives this past year. I know every other photographer likes to think they have the best clients but trust me, ours really are the best! We’d also like to thank the families and bridal parties of our wedding clients for their graciousness and patience. Larry and I are always made to feel like we are part of the fold and for that we are humbled and honored.

Thanks to the Barizo/Schultz family for flying us to Seattle, and for being such lovely subjects. We had an absolute blast photographing all of you. Lastly, we would like to extend a very heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to the fabulous venues and wedding planners whose referrals got us through a difficult year. With the economy being what it is, your support is crucial to us and we are so, so grateful for it.

s we all know, ‘tis the season for lots of holiday parties and open houses so I thought I would share with you a quick and very yummy recipe of mine. I started making these little treats as bribes for our tot sized photo subjects. If they behaved during the session (which of course they would, like I said before, our clients are the best), they would be rewarded with these tasty morsels. I knew I had a winner on my hands when the parents devoured them quicker than the kids. Basically you start with your favorite brownie recipe. If time is an issue, go ahead and use a mix, I promise no one will be the wiser. Once you’ve made your batter, spray a cookie sheet with some PAM. Lay a sheet of parchment paper on the

sheet and spray that with PAM as well. Spread your batter on top of the parchment paper to a thickness of about 1/8th inch. Use your recipe as a starting point for your baking time but keep in mind that this thinner version will bake quicker than a standard batch of brownies. Once cooled, create little circles with cookie cutters. I like to keep them bite sized but you could of course cut them into any shape or size that you like. Spread peanut butter on one circle and top with another. I have found that plain old Jif or Skippy peanut butter works best for this. Organic peanut butter’s consistency is too thin and won’t hold up. I promise these babies will make you a hit at your next party!

inally, in the spirit of giving, we would like to offer a two for one on any tintype sitting booked before February 1st. Schedule a session and receive two set ups for the cost of the initial sitting (a $100

value). We’ve been shooting quite a few bridal tintype portraits lately. It’s a wonderful excuse to wear your wedding gown one last time and have something created of you that is special and completely unique.

Hello, and welcome to the inaugural issue of our Newsletter! I'm not sure if “newsletter” is the right description for this though. That term has such stuffy, corporate connotations and I hope you’ll find this message is anything but.

have to start off with some amazing news about our studio. We were just awarded the AN-NE award for the best website by the Professional Photographers of America.

There was some pretty stiff competition but our unique {and in my “unbiased” opinion, utterly gorgeous} website rose to the top. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Joel
Adamich our fabulously gifted web designer. He really understands what’s different about our studio and makes us shine! If any of you are looking for a graphic artist and/or web designer, we can’t say enough good things about Joel. He’s also a wonderful fine artist and photographer. To learn more about him, visit his site at privaterevolution.com

But, back to our website... I’d like to offer up a little contest of my own. Somewhere on our site: isabellawrence.com, there is a photo of Larry holding his arsenal of cameras. Be the first to email me with the location of this photo and you’ll win a set of blank Isabel Lawrence photographic greeting cards.

ith holiday season quickly approaching, you might like to know that we have expanded our selection of holiday cards. We have added Tag & Co. to

Finally, I wanted to remind you about our Print of the Month. This is a great opportunity to add a museum quality photograph to your home decor at a ridiculously affordable price. These prints have sold in galleries for $500 and we are offering them to you for $50. Our selections are printed by master printer Robert Cavalli under an enlarger, the old fashioned way. Due to the nature of photography

today, the fiber paper used to make these photos is disappearing quickly so get them while you can!
