Dear Isabel and Larry:
It has been almost two years since we stumbled upon your book of samples. Once we paged through your photographs, we realized that there was no way we could possibly settle for anyone else to document our wedding. Two years later, your work covers the walls of our house, our parent’s houses, our sibling’s houses and the apartments of many of our closest friends. Here is the point: we think it is entirely possible that you are the best wedding photographers the world has ever known.
We come to this conclusion entirely objectively. Who else would have offered to meet with us nearly a year before our wedding to take some relaxed engagement shots? Who would have imagined that in that afternoon that we spent together walking through the hills of the Santa Monica mountains, you would take the best pictures that either of us-notoriously camera-shy-had ever taken? We had never had a good time being photographed before, and we had never been photographed as well before ever.
Your work at the wedding, then, came as no surprise. We have been guests at many weddings, and been fortunate enough to have participated in more than a few. At most of these, we have come away hating the photographer, usually an uptight and obnoxious taskmaster, interrupting the event to stage some forced and interchangeable line-ups.
The magic of your work at our wedding is how you were able to capture the event so beautifully, how you were able to catch all the little, precious moments that we never want to (continued)
